In the first Ant-Man film, we meet Scott as he's trying to get his life back on track after being released from prison. He's given the opportunity to become the next Ant-Man by none other than Hank Pym (played by Michael Douglas), who equips him with a suit loaded with Pym particles that allow him to shrink down to ant size and communicate with the little critters. Along the way, he teams up with Pym's estranged daughter, Hope van Dyne (played by Evangeline Lilly), to stop the company's new head from weaponizing the suit.

In Captain America: Civil War, Ant-Man surprises everyone by growing to an enormous size during the airport fight scene, allowing Steve and Bucky to escape. However, he ends up back in prison and negotiates a deal with the government to remain under house arrest for the next two years.
In Ant-Man And The Wasp, Scott is about to be released from house arrest when he's thrown into another adventure involving the Quantum Realm and the mysterious disappearance of Hope's mother. With Hope now using the Wasp suit, the trio works together to uncover the truth and save Janet van Dyne.
